Nomad Atlas Quick Tutorial

Tutorial video coming soon!

1) Start with your “must-haves”

Start exploring Destinations. Before you scroll, decide what actually matters for your next base:

  • Budget range

  • Vibe (Beach / Laidback / City / etc.)

  • Season + weather preferences

  • Internet + work setup needs

2) Filter first, then browse

Use the filters to instantly narrow down options (this is the whole point):

  • Budget → only see places that fit your monthly spend

  • Vibe → match your lifestyle (not just “popular cities”)

  • Region / Continent → keep travel realistic

  • Best season → avoid showing up at the wrong time of year

Once filters are set, scroll the results and open any destination that looks promising.

3) Open a destination page and use it like a checklist

When you click into a destination, skim in this order:

  1. At-a-glance fit (is this even your kind of base?)

  2. Neighborhoods (where you’ll actually want to live)

  3. Work + internet (coworking options + realistic setup)

  4. Cost & watch-outs (the stuff that can make or break the month)

  5. Setup Guide – Download the destination set up guide up top for a follow along checklist!

4) Save destinations as you go

Found a “maybe”? Shortlist it by clicking “Add to Shortlist.”

  • Save 3–5 contenders

  • View your Shortlist under “My Shortlist” in the main menu.
  • Then compare them side-by-side instead of doom-scrolling 50 tabs later

5) Turn a shortlist into a real plan

Once you’ve got your top picks:

  • Choose your #1 base + backup

  • Pick your neighborhood

  • Plug your numbers into the Budget Planner (also found on your My Atlas dashboard).

  • Use the setup checklist on the Destination page so you’re not scrambling on arrival

6) Use Atlas Drops for instant inspiration

Atlas Drops are curated collections (walkable bases under $2k, underrated cities, seasonal picks, etc.). Use them when you:

  • don’t know where to go yet

  • want a fast “shortlist-ready” set of options

  • want premium recommendations without the research rabbit hole

7) Explore Experiences + Events (make the month feel real)

Once you’ve picked a base (or narrowed to a couple), jump into Experiences + Events to plan the fun stuff:

  • find things you’ll actually want to do while you’re there

  • save experiences to build a simple “weekend list”

  • spot seasonal events that might make you choose one city over another
